The online race entry is now closed, congratulations to all those who entered the race this year. A number of you have been emailing the online admin staff with queries asto what happens now? Below is a list of these questions and the responses we have given, this will hopefully alleviate any last minute worries you may have.
- Do I receive any instructions through the post? Yes you receive the race pack through the post, this will include your race number and champion chip
- I have still not received my race pack, what do i do? The last batch of race packs are being sent out today and tomorrow (16th & 17th of June) which should give enough time for them to arrive safely at your designated address. If you have not received your pack by Friday please contact us and we can reprint your pack which can be picked on the day at the race information centre.
- Do I receive my number prior to the run? Yes your number will printed and is part of the race information pack
- Do I just turn up at the run before it starts? Yes, turn up in good time with your race number and champion chip in place, there is more information available on the website.
- What is the champion chip? Champion Chip is a timing device which, provided it is fitted correctly, will accurately measure your time from the second you cross the special mat at the start line until the second you cross the finish mat.
- Where do i put my champion chip? In your race pack you will receive your RACE NUMBER and a special ENVELOPE which contains your Champion Chip and Velcro ankle strap. Do NOT wear the chip on your wrist. The following website contains a detailed description on how to attach the champion chip
- When does the race start? The race starts at 9:30 AM don't be late and remember to leave enough time to travel from the FREE park and ride to the race start.
- Can I park at the race start? There is NO PARKING available at John Wright Sport Centre, there is Free Park & Ride from Brancumhall Recreation Area.
Additional Information:
- The race entry limit across both races is 2009 runners.
- Minimum age 17+ years on day of race for Half Marathon.
- Minimum age 15+ years on day of race for 10k.
- The Wheelchair Race will be over the 10k course only.
- Wheelchair entrants - the wheelchair race will start before the rest of the field for safety reasons.
- For reasons of safety, please no entries from people on roller-blades, in beds, wheel-barrows, pushchairs, unicycles, prams, baby joggers etc.
- No pets, dogs, or horses.
- If you have any pre-existing medical condition, please provide this information to the organisers along with your entry form, or by calling the telephone number listed above.
- The race organisers, South Lanarkshire Leisure will begin sending out race information 4 weeks before the event.
- Full prize list will be listed in the race information pack.
- Free Park & Ride from Brancumhall Recreation Area.
- No Parking available at John Wright Sport Centre.
